Michael F. Chiang, MD, is Knowles Professor of Ophthalmology & Medical Informatics at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), and is Associate Director of the OHSU Casey Eye Institute. His clinical practice focuses on pediatric ophthalmology, And he is board-certified In clinical informatics. His research investigated telemedicine, clinical information systems, and computer-based image analysis to improve health care delivery. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal papers, and has directed training programs in both ophthalmology & biomedical informatics. To OHSU in 2010, he spent 9 years at Columbia University, where he was Anne S. Cohen Associate Professor of Ophthalmology & Biomedical Informatics. Dr. Chiang received a BS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University,And an MD from Harvard Medical School. He received an MA in Biomedical Informatics from Columbia University, and raised residency and fellowship training at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. He is past chair of the AAO Medical Information Technology Committee, and chair of the AAO IRIS Registry data analytics committee. He is Associate Editor for Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, Associate Editor for Journal of AAPOS, and serves on the Editorial Boards for Ophthalmology and Ophthalmology Retina, Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology, and EyeNet.And chair of the AAO IRIS Registry data analytics committee.
