罗家麟

Dr. Lo Ka Lun is currently the Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is also an Associate Consultant of the New Territories East Cluster Hospitals.
 
His special interests are bipolar enucleation of prostate (BipoLEP), transperineal prostate biopsy ( TPUS Bx), and Multi-parametric MRI Vesical Imaging-Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) in bladder tumor – Endoscopic submucosal dissection (BT-ESD).
 
For BipoLEP, he is currently working on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Registry in New Territories East Cluster. He has performed live surgery demonstration and moderator of BipoLEP in SIU eGrand Rounds in 2018 and 2019 respectively.
 
He also delivered lectures of BipoLEP in local and loco-regional conferences, including:
A. Bipolar Enucleation of prostate: Tips and tracks in the 1st Endoluminal & Technology Symposium in Seoul, 2018.
B. Management of BPH - From Combination therapy to Enucleation of prostate in Hong Kong Urology Association, 2018.
C. Panel discussion - Selecting the right endoscopic procedure for BPH patients in the 10th Hong Kong Urology Symposium, 2018.
D. Hong Kong experience of BipoLEP and HOLEP - a study on comparison of these two techniques in terms of surgical outcomes in CUA, 2018.
E. Urology Advanced Surgery – Bipolar Enucleation of Prostate organized by The Association of Hong Kong Operating Room Nurses, 2019.
F. Endoscopic Enucleation of Prostate in Urology Nursing Chapter of Hong Kong Urological Association, 2019.
G. Short stay bipolar transurethral enucleation of the prostate with catheter-free discharge – A pilot study in Hospital Authority Convention, 2019.
H. Transurethral Bipolar Enucleation of Prostate in Annual Conference organized by Guangdong Medical Doctor Association in Guangzhou.
I. Initial experience of endoscopic Enucleation of Prostate, UAA 2019.
 
He also organized training sessions of BipoLEP for local and loco-regional Urologists, from India, Macau and China, etc.
 
For publication, he is having publication in-progress of the perioperative outcome and picture-in -picture demonstration of bipolar transurethral enucleation of the prostate with a new generation bipolar resection system in Gold Journal.
For TPUS Bx, he helped to introduce the practice of Freehand TPUS Bx in Hong Kong. He was the director of the Hong Kong first Freehand Transperineal Prostate Biopsy Workshop in the 10 th  Hong Kong Urology Symposium, 2018. During the Workshop, apart from organizing the program, he also performed live demonstrations of Esaote system freehand and Biobot Mona Lisa MRI-USG fusion transperineal prostate biopsies. He also introduced transperineal fiducial markers insertion in Hong Kong.
 
Also, he delivered lectures in local and loco-regional conferences, including:
A. 14G Angiocath can be a safe, cheap and disposable puncture guide in freehand transperineal prostate biopsy in SIU in Seoul, 2018.
B. Hong Kong experience of the first 100 cases of transperineal prostate biopsy in CUA in China, 2018.
C. Pioneer new practice in HK: Transperineal prostate biopsy – Hong Kong experience of the first 100 cases of transperineal prostate biopsy in the 10 th  Hong Kong Urology Symposium, 2018.
D. Urology Advanced Surgery – Transperineal Prostate Biopsy organized by The Association of Hong Kong Operating Room Nurses, 2019.
E. Transperineal Prostate biopsy in Urology Nursing Chapter of Hong Kong Urological Association, 2019.
F. Can transperineal prostate biopsy replace transrectal prostate biopsy in Hong Kong? A retrospective study comparing between 435 cases of transrectal prostate biopsy and 230 cases of transperineal prostate biopsy in Hospital Authority Convention, 2019. He won the prize of the Best Poster Display Award in this Conference.
G. Evolution from transperineal diagnosis to treatment of Ca prostate, HKSE 2019.
H. Evolution from transperineal diagnosis to treatment of Ca prostate, Video Presentation Award UAA 2019.  
I. A retrospective study comparing between 435 cases of transrectal prostate biopsy and 230 cases of transperineal prostate biopsy, UAA 2019.
 
He also had publication in Hong Kong Medical Journal, 2019 - A retrospective single centre comparison of the outcome of transperineal prostate biopsy with transrectal prostate biopsy in Hong Kong.
 
For BT-ESD, he introduced the practice of the Multi-parametric MRI Vesical Imaging- Reporting and Data System (VI-RADS) in Bladder Tumour – Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (BT-ESD) in Hong Kong and had publication of his study in Journal of Endourology.
 
He also attended and presented in local and loco-regional conferences, including:
