After graduation (MBBS), I did my basic surgical training in Pakistan at May Hospital, Lahore. I did my fellowship (FCPS) in General Surgery in 2002 and then moved to UK to pursue my interest in Vascular surgery. I was inducted in UK higher surgical training program. I sub-specialised in Vascular surgery and completed my FRCS. Towards the end of my training I completed my fellowship in Endovascular surgery. 
I worked as a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular surgeon at University Hospital North Midlands from 2011 to 2015. I then moved back to Pakistan where I have established Vascular and Endovascular surgery at my hospital. 
Vascular surgery is in its infancy in Pakistan where, due to lack of trained vascular surgeons, most of the cover is provided by General surgeons  &some by Cardiac surgeons. I, along with some colleagues, am trying to establish Vascular Society of Pakistan to promote vascular surgical training, education and expertise.
