Prof. Tetsuro Oshika is Chairman and Professor of Ophthalmology, University of Tsukuba, Japan. He is Regional Secretary of APAO, Vice President of the Academy of Asia-Pacific Professors of Ophthalmology (AAPPO), member of the Global Advisors Committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), and Executive Director of the Japanese Ophthalmological Society. He is the recipient of the Achievement Award of AAO (2006); the Achievement Award (2015) and Jose Rizal Medal (2016) of APAO; and was Silver Fellow of the Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology (ARVO, 2015).

With over 500 peer-reviewed publications, 100 textbook chapters, and 450 invited lectures to his credit, Prof. Oshika holds a central position in academic and clinical ophthalmology in Asia.
