Dear WABIP member,

Due to the urgency surrounding the virus epidemic in Wuhan, China and its proximity to our Shanghai WCBIP this April, we regret to inform you that we must postpone our congress. The new date is as follows:
November 20-22, 2020

The deadline of abstract submission is extended to June 30, 2020. If you have already registered, your registration will carry over and remain effective for our November congress.  If you have submitted an abstract, publications and presentations will be in November.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. These hard decisions were made in response to the impact of the epidemic in China and around the world. We shall announce with more details in the coming days and weeks.

Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to warmly invite you to attend WCBIP 2020 on Nov. 20-22, 2020. 
The biennial congress hosted by WABIP will be co-organized by the Chinese Medical Association and its affiliated Chinese Thoracic Society.

As the largest international organization in the area of bronchology and interventional pulmonology, WCBIP owns over 8000 members globally. It develops very quickly in the past decades benefited from the innovations and progresses of respiratory endoscopy and interventional pulmonology.

The theme of WCBIP 2020 is "New Land, New Scope". "New Land" implies that bronchology and interventional pulmonology is a new subfield of modern respiratory medicine. Latest technologic innovations in Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology is one of the promising frontiers of Modern Respirology. “New Land” also means WCBIP 2020 is the first time of WABIP launching a developing country. China and other less-developed countries are involving deeper in the academic pursuits of bronchology and interventional pulmonology. As one of the most rapidly developing countries, China will establish an excellent partnership with WABIP and bring many more nationals to WABIP. “New Scope” means that new respiratory endoscopic techniques are being developed that will be highlighted at WCBIP 2020. It also implies that developing countries, such as China, India and others, have entered the scope of WABIP and will be paid more attention by the society.

WCBIP 2020 will reveal New Landscape of Bronchololgy and Interventional Pulmonology. It will bring WABIP to an era of more colorful and bright future with the involvement of developing countries and the innovation of new respiratory endoscopic techniques.

The program will include opening ceremony, scientific seminar, satellite symposium, hand-on workshop, oral and poster presentation, video festival and other academic activities. Definitely it will be brilliant and attractive.

China is the largest developing country with 56 ethnic groups, total population of 1.3 billion. She has splendid and pluralistic culture and are famous for delicious foods and beautiful arts. Shanghai is a magic city. It is the largest financial and trade center in China. Her fascination comes from the combination of modernity and tradition. Although Shanghai is not a city with the longest history in China, the City God Temple is 600 years old. It witnesses the dramatic change of Shanghai. Wandering along the river side, enjoying the leisure time. River boat trip will bring you enjoy the most beautiful scenery of Huangpu. The 486-meter-high Oriental Pearl Tower will provide you a birds-eye view of Shanghai.

Welcome to WCBIP 2020. We are looking forward to meeting you in Shanghai. Your attendance is our honour and will add luster to the congress.
