The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to participate in the 16th Asia TEFL International Conference to be held in Macau from 27-29 June 2018 in conjunction with the 1st MAAL (Macau Association for Applied Linguistics) International Conference and 6th HAAL (Hong Kong Association for Applied Linguistics) International Conference with around 1,000-1,200 participants from all-over the world.
2. About Asia TEFL and the 2018 AsiaTEFL/MAAL/HAAL International Conference
The Asia TEFL is a professional organization of which its members are professionals in the field of teaching English as a foreign language in Asia and other countries. This professional organization was established in 2002 to provide a forum for researchers, policy makers, school leaders, teachers, educational administrators, and professional developers in the field of ELT to share ideas, promote research, and encourage practices that will enhance the quality and equity of English language education for all students. The Asia TEFL’s goal is to promote scholarship, disseminate information, and facilitate cross-cultural understanding among persons concerned with the teaching and learning of English in Asia. Asia TEFL’s annual international conference is the largest ELT conference in Asia with an average of more than 1,200 participants from over 120 countries each year.
MAAL and HAAL are the Asia TEFL’s partners and have agreed to hold their annual conference in conjunction with the Asia TEFL’s 16th conference in 2018. The 2018 Conference provides a forum to address the issues that ELT practitioners and researchers face in the changing glocalized world. Our aim for this conference is to bring together the ELT community in Asia so that we can work together to share successful strategies and practices and to forge a common response to the challenges we face, a response that draws on both research and praxis. 5. The fine print
1) Opportunities for additional, customized add-ons will be considered on a first-come, first served basis. Contact conference Chair, Dr. Yilin Sun at yilinsuntesol@gmail.com. Such add-ons could include sponsoring coffee breaks, meals, conference social/cultural events, specified participants such as local teachers, graduate students or plenary speakers.
2)The 2018 Asia TEFL/MAAL/HAAL Conference shall not refund, rebate, or credit any money paid by way of sponsorship.
3) The 2018 Asia TEFL/MAAL/HAAL Conference Organizing Committee reserves the right to refuse to sell sponsorship, exhibit space or advertising to any company it deems objectionable or cross-purposed to the association’s mission.
4) Advertisers, exhibitors and sponsors are responsible for designing and providing necessary materials, including but not limited to conference bag inserts, advertisements for the programme book, banners, posters, leaflets and flyers that form part of the exhibit display.
5) The 2018 Asia TEFL/MAAL/HAAL Conference Organizing Committee reserves the right to resize or otherwise correct an ad for the programme booklet so that it conforms to specifications. Because of the time constraints associated with production, the advertiser may not be contacted prior to changes made to submitted ad materials. The advertiser nevertheless remains responsible for any charges associated with making those changes.
6) Advertisers, exhibitors and sponsors must provide advertisements for the programme book and company/organization logos for inclusion in conference printed materials by material deadlines.
7) Advertisers, exhibitors and sponsors must ensure that the content of materials that they provide do not infringe on another person’s copyright, are not libelous or defamatory, and do not violate any laws of the Macau Special Administrative Region.
8) The 2018 Asia TEFL/MAAL/HAAL Conference Organizing Committee reserves the right to remove any materials provided by advertisers, exhibitors and sponsors that it deems objectionable, cross-purposed to the association’s mission, and/or that do not conform to the standards described in these terms and conditions.
