Richard Kennedy is a consultant gynaecologist and specialist in reproductive medicine and is currently Medical Director of the Birmingham Maternity System and Honorary Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist of the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Birmingham, UK. He has held senior medical leadership roles in the UK and Australia leading service improvement and reconfiguration initiatives. He set up a successful IVF unit in the UK in 1989, was a member of the first NICE infertility clinical guidelines committee and an inspector for the Human Fertilisation and Embryology. He is a past president of the British Fertility Society, immediate Past President of the International Federation of Fertility and Societies (IFFS) and is Chair of the Scientific Committee of the IFFS.
