The AATS Focus on Thoracic Surgery: Lung and Esophageal Cancer meeting will take place at the Shangri-La Hotel on November 22-24, 2019. The meeting will be organized by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery in collaboration with West China Hospital, Sichuan University, and Sichuan International Medical Exchange & Promotion Association. The faculty includes Chinese and internation-ally recognized experts in lung and esophageal diseases, ensuring attendees will receive insights from a broad spectrum of leaders in thoracic surgery. We are pleased to invite you to participate in the meeting.

AATS is a well-known international academic organization of thoracic surgery. It has a history of more than 100 years. As one of AATS’s well-designed series of academic educational activities, AATS Focus has made outstanding contributions and irreplaceable status in promoting international exchange, cooperation, and academic development of thoracic surgery. Since 2012, the AATS Focus on Thoracic Surgery course has been held for seven sessions; most recently in Guangzhou

in 2018, Beijing in 2017, and Shanghai in 2016. This is the fourth collaboration between the AATS and Chinese colleagues. Lung cancer and esophageal cancer remain a global concern for patients and thoracic surgeons as two of the deadliest malignancies worldwide. The 2019 AATS Focus on Thoracic Surgery: Lung and Esophageal Cancer meeting will concentrate on the complex issues involved with treating both lung and esophageal malignancies, while also discussing innovative approaches to improve quality and outcomes. The meeting includes lectures, case studies, thematic discussions, and video presentations.
