Wing Leung PhD

Prof.Leung obtained his medical degree from the University of Hong Kong and a PhD from the Johns Hopkins University. After completing his Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellowship and serving as a faculty member at Johns Hopkins, he joined St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and University of Tennessee in 1999-2015. He is a diplomate certified in General Pediatrics and in Pediatric Hematology–Oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics. Prof. Leung has a major research interest in the biology of human natural killer (NK) cells and T-memory cells, specifically the clinical applications in HLA-mismatched hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. His research has been funded continually by NIH RO1 awards. Dr. Leung served on the Protocol Review Committee of the NHLBI Bone Marrow Transplant Clinical Trials Network (BMT-CTN) for over a decade. He is on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology and is a regular member of NIH Study Section. He is an elected Member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
