Dr. Ou is an established investigator and Professor from University of Southern California, Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. Dr. Ou’s expertise is in hepatitis virus and his research covers multiple aspect of HBV and HCV, including the viral interaction with the autophagy machinery. He has published 131 papers on these subjects, many of which are on high impact journals, such as Immunity, Hepatology, PNAS, EMBO J, Plos Pathogens, Autophagy, etc. He has won numerous honors and awards. He was an elected fellow of American Association of the Advancement of Science, and American Academy of Microbiology. He has been an editorial member of several notable journals and a member of many NIH study sections.
