Dr. John Mitchell
Dr. John Mitchell is Residency Program Director for the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of Education in Anesthesia. He is an Associate Professor of Anaesthesia at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Mitchell has received significant recognition as an educator and got multiple awards. He is a member of the Harvard Academy and a Senior Member of the BIDMC Academy of Educators. He is also a member of the FAER Academy of Education Mentors in Anesthesiology. His research interests include simulation and optimizing resident performance. He is currently engaged in projects exploring efficient ways to train for complex tasks and demonstrate transferability of simulator-acquired skills, and integrate technology into residency training.
